Verrucae

Verrucae are viral lesions (like warts) which occur on the feet. Verrucae are not necessarily painful, although they can become uncomfortable dependant on where they are on the foot, and if they have callus development over them. They can be tricky to treat and can disappear without treatment. Verrucae can be treated with over the counter remedies however it is important to have a correct diagnosis prior to commencing any treatment. Your GP / Pharmacist or Podiatrist will be able to help diagnose these lesions. Podiatrists are trained in using treatments which can be stronger than over the counter remedies so if your verrucae is painful or you are keen to seek resolution, a podiatrist may be able to help. (Please note, due to the viral nature of verrucae, treatment cannot be guaranteed to be successful)
